Annual Club Championships

We would like to thank all of you, children, spectators, organisers, timekeepers and guest for the part you paid in our annual club championships, we are sure you will agree they went very well over the 2 days with some excellent races. We would also like to thank all of the people who donated prizes for the raffles and special thanks must go to Karen Porter and fab@flowers in Westhoughton for the beautiful flowers for our guests.

Results from the championships are available for you to collect in the spectator’s area.

Next year at the request of the children there will be 2 new events, the 25M butterfly for the 9 year old boys and girls.

Club Fees for 2008

The fees for the swimming club are as follows: - 1st child £140.00, 2nd child £130.00, 3rd child £120.00 any more children in the family are free. The fees can be paid anytime but we would like to have 1/3 of the fees by the end of March, 2/3 of the fees paid by the end of June and the remainder by the mid September.

Any scheme members will need to pay £25.00 membership fee which gives them 12 sessions and then any session attended after that will be charged at £2.00 per session.

Next year we will also be introducing a £10.00 registration fee for all members to be paid at the time of signing on for the year. This is to cover the cost the Swimming Club needs to pay to the ASA (Amateur Swimming Association) for membership and the insurance for each member.

Dates for the diary

Splash Night - 18th December.

Children who swim between 6.30pm to 7.45 on Tuesday will be having fun from 6.30pm to 7.30pm

Children who swim in the 7.45pm to 9.15pm session on Tuesday will be there at the normal time.

Family Disco – 7th December 8.00pm at Madison Hall (Old Hindley Conservative Club) tickets £1.50 available at the desk.

Children’s Christmas Party – 15th December 12.15pm to 2.15pm at St John’s Church Hall, Hindley Green, tickets £1.50 available at the desk. Any child 9 or under including non members are welcome.

Committee Meeting - 16th January 7.30pm at St John’s Church Hall, Hindley Green, all welcome.

Help needed in running the club

We are currently looking for volunteers to help us run the club, the club as been running now for over 25 years and to continue we need help from as many people as possible. No matter how big or small your contribution will be it will help the club to survive. You could join the committee, help the little ones in learning to swim, raise money for the club, help at the pool side, or anything else you feel will help run the club smoothly. Please make your self known to any of the committee members; you help will be greatly appreciated.

Bolton and District Registrations.

Anybody wishing to enter the B&D age group galas for next year needs to let Richard know as soon as possible. The closing date for registrations is 18th December. Please note that any swimmer must also be registered to ASA CAT 2 to enter these events. Please let Martin know if this is the case so he can fill in the right details when completing the ASA registrations next year.

Friday Swimming

Please note that there is a swimming session on Friday’s (8.30pm – 9.30pm) for the swimmers in the top group and selected swimmers from the intermediate group. On Tuesday we average 45 swimmers but this drops to an average of 15 on Friday. The club as gone to great lengths to get this session and if attendance does not improve we may need to cancel the session, so please try to make it.

Christmas Period

The final session for the club will be the splash night on Tuesday 18^th December; the club will reopen on Tuesday 8th January.
